The Foundation of Henle


Roots of Resilience
All successful entrepreneurial stories contain a significant share of resilience and adaptability—and in the case of Henle, those values were embedded in the company’s culture long before it was founded. In the 1940s, Mr. Jean Hans Henle and his wife barely escaped occupied Europe, crossing the Pyrenees on foot and eventually arriving in Canada—determined to rebuild their lives and that of their infant son, Claude.

Building the Business
In 1950, Jean Hans founded Henle, wholesaling products sourced locally. Over time, that sourcing expanded across North America—and eventually, around the world. After the passing of Jean Hans, the company continued to grow under Claude’s leadership, always staying true to its roots of resilience and adaptability.

Carrying the Legacy Forward
Seventy-five years later—now under new ownership—Henle's legacy continues to evolve with purpose, a strong work ethic, and a passion for global sourcing.
